Prime Minister Keir Starmer will bring together a dozen European partners to launch the new project, Downing Street says.
Allies will “spend $50 billion over the next ten years developing in-depth precision strike capabilities to strengthen defence and deterrence across the alliance,” a statement said.
It is said to be about advanced missiles that will be able to reach over 2,000 kilometres "with pinpoint precision." Starmer will present the details of the initiative at today's NATO meeting in Ankara.
The prime minister on Wednesday urged NATO leaders to "show unity and strength" in light of the war in Ukraine and the US war with Iran.
