Pittsburgh has had a hard time holding onto their leads in recent games. The other day, the team lost a 5-1 lead against San Jose – and in tonight's NHL game, the next cold shower came. 3-0 going into the final period ended in a 4-5 loss against Utah.
"First of all, not a chance in a million that this would happen again twenty-four hours later and we would be standing here talking about the same thing. It sounds like a broken record," the Pittsburgh coach said, according to nhl.com.
Team captain Sidney Crosby:
"I don't think we had our best night. We played well enough to win but unfortunately we didn't manage to do it," he says.
Pittsburgh started the game well, leading 1–0 after just 48 seconds. Bryan Rust made it 2–0, after a pass from Rickard Rakell, and Ben Kindel made it 3–0. Utah managed to both equalize and get past, before Pittsburgh star guard Erik Karlsson played to tie the game, 4–4.
However, Utah took the win in overtime. Pittsburgh has now lost five straight games.
