"Evelina Crüsell was fifth in the premiere in Bruksvallarna and Alvar Myhlback will test skiathlon on Sunday after even laps during the premiere weekend. On the sprint, Anton Grahn comes in and makes his season debut in the World Cup, says national team manager Anders Byström in a press release.

Sweden sends 25 skiers and all big names are included. Among them is Johanna Hagström, who surprisingly won the sprint – and Frida Karlsson, who outclassed comebacking Norwegian Therese Johaug on 10 kilometers in an impressive power demonstration.

"The first competition weekend in the World Cup gave us a fine start with, among other things, wins for Johanna Hagström and Frida Karlsson. Now we have evaluated Ruka and are preparing for really tough competition in Lillehammer, where the host country will field twelve skiers in each race", says Anders Byström.

Jens Burman is skipping Friday's race due to cold symptoms, but hopes to be able to compete on Sunday.

Friday: 10 km, freestyle, men and women.

Saturday: Sprint, freestyle, women and men.

Sunday: Skiathlon, men and women.
