The police are still tight-lipped about the crime - and cannot connect the perpetrator and victim. However, they say they have “a fairly clear picture” of what happened.
One of the injured has been questioned by the police and given a clear picture of what happened, reports P4 Norrbotten.
The suspect, a man in his 20s, was shot dead by police.
"We are just standing there and stamping our feet. We have no known relationship between him and the people who were at the address. If there is one, the investigation will show," says PO Andersson, criminal inspector at the police unit for serious crimes in Luleå.
Alarm from the villa
It was at lunchtime on Christmas Day that the police were called to the villa where several people had been attacked with a cleaver.
Someone at the address calls the police. We are ordered there due to some type of assault in a residence. Then we learn more things along the way.
A 55-year-old woman was killed and two other people were taken to hospital with injuries, where they continue to be treated.
Neither the Prosecutor's Office nor the police want to say whether more people were in the villa.
According to Aftonbladet's information, the perpetrator was in the home for several hours, something PO Andersson neither wants to confirm nor deny.
A threatening situation arises when we arrive at the scene and this leads to the police firing live fire at the man, says Andersson about the fatal shooting.
Looking for tips
The perpetrator has "connections to" Boden and, according to Andersson, the police had "some knowledge" of him previously. The police are appealing for tips and observations.
The police are interested in obtaining information that may seem like a trifle to the individual, but which for us can be a small piece of the puzzle.
The incident is being investigated as murder and attempted murder.
The police shooting is being investigated by the Special Prosecutor's Office with the support of the police's Special Investigations Department.
At half mast
Överluleå Church had extra opening hours on Boxing Day to meet people in need of support. Boden Municipality's crisis support group will be on site at the church on Saturday, municipal manager Magnus Åkerlund told Aftonbladet.
The murdered woman worked at the Norrbotten Regiment and on Saturday the regiment will fly its flag at half-mast, several media outlets report.
According to neighbors that Expressen spoke to, the residential area is usually quiet.
"You can't believe it's true. It's absolutely terrible, in little Boden," says a neighbor.
