Twisted Sister cancels its world tour, Sweden Rock reports. Singer Dee Snider, 70, has suffered serious health problems and has decided to leave the band, according to Göteborgs-Posten.

In April, Twisted Sister, the hard rock band behind hits like "We're Not Gonna Take It", was due to begin an anniversary tour celebrating 50 years on stage. Instead, a sudden announcement came on Instagram:

Dee Snider suffers from osteoarthritis and heart problems, and can now sing only a few songs at a time.

"The idea of slowing down is unacceptable to me. I'd rather walk away than be a shadow of my former self," wrote Dee Snider, quoting Dirty Harry in the movie "Magnum Force": "A man has to know his own limits."

Twisted Sister was due to perform at this summer's Sweden Rock.
