Less than a quarter of an hour into the game, Luleå led 4–0. When the game was over, HV71 had produced one of the most dramatic comebacks of the hockey season. "Magical," said HV71 match-winner Hugo Fransson after the 6–5 road victory.

Pontus Andreasson put Luleå up 4–0 on a power play after 14:46 of the first period. At that time, the SHL's second-from-bottom HV71 looked like a beaten team.

But Jonathan Ang was given a penalty before the period was over, and that would be the start of a terrible turnaround. Or almost two of them.

You want to believe that. You have to continue to believe that. Today we are definitely not satisfied with the first period, but it was great that we got into it and made a match of it, says HV71's coach Anton Blomqvist to TV4 Play.

“It is bitter”

Hugo Fransson made it 2-4 in the second period and Justin Kloos made it 3-4 early in the third. But when Oskar Stål-Lyrenäs doubled the lead for Luleå with less than two and a half minutes to play, it looked like it was over again.

Then HV71 took out the goalie, scored two goals - and took the game to overtime. There, Hugo Fransson stepped up and pushed in the 6–5 winner to complete the turnaround.

"It's bitter. We're 5-3 and they take out the goalkeeper and score two goals. That's the maximum payoff. But at the same time, we're not playing a good game after the first period, so we&#;ll have to look at ourselves in the mirror," says Luleå coach Thomas Berglund to TV4 Play.

It's hockey. If you relax, things go fast in this sport.

Heavy for Dif

The match winner was all the more satisfied.

"It was magical. I think it was an incredibly nice feeling and a fantastic turn of events," says Hugo Fransson.

At Hovet in Stockholm, Djurgården's tough period continued. Rögle won 4–2 away despite Joseph Laleggia scoring two goals for the home team.

Soon, however, Djurgården will have three players back in the fold. The golden heroes from the JVM, Anton Frondell, Victor Eklund and Viggo Björck, are expected to be back in the capital later this week.
