Turkish police have arrested 65 soldiers and police officers for alleged ties to the preacher Fethullah Gülen, whom the government accuses of having masterminded the 2016 coup.
According to the state news agency Anatolia, 56 active-duty soldiers in the Turkish army have been arrested. Arrest warrants are said to have been issued.
In addition, nine police officers have been arrested, most of them in Istanbul, according to the opposition TV channel Halk TV.
Fethullah Gülen died in October. He was close to Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan many years ago, but he fled to the USA in 1999 and never returned.
