All American military equipment that is not currently in Ukraine is being paused, says a high-ranking official within the US Department of Defense to Bloomberg. Several other American media outlets have received the same information.
This also applies to weapons that are on their way to Ukraine by plane or ship, or that are waiting in transit areas in Poland. The US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, has been tasked with implementing the pause.
The pause will not be lifted until Trump believes that Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky shows a genuine commitment to peace.
"The President has made it clear that he is focused on peace. We want our partners to be equally engaged in that goal. We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it contributes to a solution," says an anonymous source within the White House to CNN.
It is unclear exactly how much aid is affected. Neither the Pentagon nor Donald Trump himself has commented on the reports so far.
The news comes days after the heated verbal exchange between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office at the White House.
Since the argument on Friday, the atmosphere has been tense between the two leaders, and Trump accuses Zelensky of not wanting peace and of sabotaging the American's proposal for a ceasefire in Ukraine. Zelensky, on the other hand, has repeatedly emphasized that Ukraine needs security guarantees for a lasting peace to become a reality.
A source tells CNN that the pause is a direct response to what Trump sees as Zelensky's bad behavior on Friday.
