A dozen people died and around 20 were injured when a truck drove off a cliff in southern Pakistan.
On board the truck were workers who on Monday evening were on their way back to the city of Badin, after harvesting wheat in another region.
The accident occurred around midnight local time and is believed by Pakistani police to have been caused by the truck's brakes not functioning. The police also say that both the darkness and the depth of the ravine made the rescue operation more difficult.
When the rescue service arrived at the scene, several injured people were sent to nearby hospitals. The condition of some of them was described by hospital staff as critical.
According to the news agency Efe, at least 16 people died. Among the fatalities were at least four children.
