The big London club is in danger of leaving the Premier League and was booed by its own fans in its last home match.

There is little chance the club will reach the Champions League quarter-finals. If so, something really special will be needed in the return leg.

Atlético Madrid stormed into the quarter-finals tonight, thrashing the struggling English club 5-2. Marcos Llorente, Julián Álvarez, Antoine Griezmann and Robin Le Normand all scored.

The remarkable thing? It only took 22 minutes to reach 4–0.

Kinsky's nightmare

Tottenham's Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky had a nightmare night. After two serious mistakes, he was substituted in the 17th minute.

Igor Tudor recently took over as interim manager when Thomas Frank was fired. The question is how long Tudor will remain in charge.

Tudor has lost his first four matches.

Pedro Porro reduced it to 4–1. Álvarez made it 5–1 after the break before Dominic Solanke tidied up the numbers a bit.

Bayern crushed Atalanta

Bayern Munich inflicted an even heavier defeat - and on the road. National team midfielder Isak Hien and his Atalanta had no chance against the German giants at home in Bergamo.

Bayern won 6–1 with goals from Josip Stanisic, Michael Olise (2), Serge Gnabry, Nicolas Jackson and Jamal Musiala.

Anthony Elanga started for Newcastle against Barcelona. The international striker was involved in a lot of attacking action, but it was Harvey Barnes who was celebrated at St James' Park.

He met Jacob Murphy's cross (Murphy had come on as a substitute for Elanga) and scored the opening goal in the 88th minute. It wasn't enough for victory.

Six minutes into added time, Lamine Yamal equalized on a penalty.
