The 26-year-old man charged with the murder of an ambulance paramedic in Nordanstig himself stated in the emergency call that he had been threatening during a previous alarm.

The man has a history of violent behavior, often in combination with drinking alcohol. The preliminary investigation includes the 911 call that the accused man made at the end of September, shortly before he stabbed a female ambulance paramedic to death.

According to several media outlets, the man said that he had been threatening during a previous alarm, that he was suicidal, needed help, and that he had returned home a day ago after being admitted to a psychiatric hospital.

"I had to go in a police car," he says to the SOS emergency operator, writes Aftonbladet.

"May I ask why you had to ride in a police car?" asks the alarm operator.

"I was threatening and such, and didn't want to go with you," the man replies.

The emergency operator then asks if he will go with the ambulance on his own this time. To which he replies “yes.” However, the ambulance paramedics who were sent to the address were not informed that the man himself had said that he had been threatening.
