Three players out – two in. National team captain Jon Dahl Tomasson has already had to reshuffle the squad ahead of the matches against Slovakia and Estonia.

Robin Olsen, who missed the previous gathering and was also a question mark for this one, has withdrawn.

No replacement for the Aston Villa goalkeeper is being called up, as the national team captain had already chosen to select four goalkeepers.

Instead, centre-back Carl Starfelt, Celta Vigo, and forward Gustaf Nilsson, Club Brygge, are being replaced by U21 players Hugo Bolin, midfielder in Malmö FF, and Daniel Svensson, defender in FC Nordsjælland.

With star striker Alexander Isak injured, it means that Tomasson only has one pure forward in Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyökeres.

In addition to Isak, midfielders Jens Cajuste and Mattias Svanberg are also missing.

The national team assembles in Stockholm on Monday and travels to Bratislava on Thursday. On Friday, at 20.45, Blågult faces Slovakia. Three days later, Estonia awaits in Tallinn.

Sweden began its hunt for advancement in the Nations League with two wins: 3–1 away against Azerbaijan and 3–0 at home against Estonia.

Goalkeepers: Viktor Johansson, Stoke, Kristoffer Nordfeldt, AIK, Jacob Widell Zetterström, Derby.

Defenders: Ludwig Augustinsson, Anderlecht, Alex Douglas, Lech Poznan, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Lille, Isak Hien, Atalanta, Emil Krafth, Newcastle, Victor Nilsson Lindelöf, Manchester United, Ken Sema, Watford, Eric Smith, St Pauli, Daniel Svensson, FC Nordsjælland

14 October: Estonia in Tallinn (20.45).
