A total of 27 cases have now been reported in the ongoing outbreak, with the first cases reported on Saturday.
The majority of cases are school-age children and young adults, and most of the cases have not been vaccinated against measles, writes the Public Health Agency.
The cases have been reported from nine regions: Gotland, Jämtland Härjedalen, Skåne, Stockholm, Sörmland, Värmland, Västerbotten, Västernorrland and Västra Götaland. The Stockholm Region has the highest number of cases, with nine confirmed infections.
The incubation period for measles is 21 days and the Urkult festival ran until August 1. The Public Health Agency is taking the outbreak seriously.
"Because we have very good vaccination coverage in Sweden, we don't expect a major outbreak. But it is a serious disease," Johanna Rubin, pediatrician and coordinator of the vaccination programme unit at the Swedish Public Health Agency, told TT on Thursday.
