Yorke tells that he then became "appalled" when a high-ranking Israeli politician approached the band after the concert to personally express his gratitude.
The band is now preparing for their first tour in seven years with 20 performances in five European cities.
Yorke has previously been in conflict with pro-Palestinian activists. During a solo concert in Australia last year, he left the stage after an audience member shouted that the band should take a stand for Palestinian victims in Gaza.
Guitarist Jonny Greenwood, married to an Israeli artist, says on his part that he "does not feel ashamed to work with both Arab and Jewish musicians" despite recurring criticism.
