Oasis makes a comeback, Zara Lundell goes viral and Siw Malmkvist, soon to be 89, is back in the spotlight. Björn Skifs and Mikael Wiehe say they have dementia. Here is the year of entertainment 2025, part two: July – December.

JULY

2: After a long trial, Sean “Diddy” Combs is acquitted of the worst charges, but the hip-hop mogul is sentenced to four years and two months in prison for crimes related to sex trafficking.

4: Oasis kick off their big reunion tour in Cardiff. Britpop fans flock to the 41 shows around the world.

17: Björn Skifs says he has suffered from frontal lobe dementia and is ending his career. Just a month later, Mikael Wiehe says in his summer program that he has Alzheimer's.

22: Ozzy Osbourne dies 17 days after a farewell concert with his band Black Sabbath at his home in Birmingham. The hard rock icon turns 76.

AUGUST

22: A 38-year-old man who stalked influencer Bianca Ingrosso is sentenced to five months in prison.

29: Hov1 bids farewell to 52,000 spectators at Gärdet in Stockholm. The following day, an older generation gets to say goodbye to Bob Hund, who also chooses the capital for his last concert.

SEPTEMBER

3: "The film about Siw" premieres and becomes a huge success for the soon-to-be 89-year-old artist Malmkvist, who becomes so popular that SVT appoints her as Christmas host.

16: Robert Redford passes away. The Hollywood icon turns 89.

17: ABC unexpectedly stops talk show host Jimmy Kimmel's program on American television. A joke about the reactions to the murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk has angered Donald Trump's supporters and in the new media world in the United States, the president has great influence over Hollywood. A week later, Kimmel is back on the air – and will soon be renewed for a contract.

OCTOBER

3: Taylor Swift releases a new album after returning to her old allies Max Martin and Shellback and secretly visiting the producers in Stockholm to record the songs.

11: Diane Keaton, one of Hollywood's greatest actors, passes away. She turns 79.

17: Veronica Maggio's film debut "Seven Steps" premieres in theaters. It's going to be a hectic fall for the artist, who releases a new album two weeks earlier.

31: The much-talked-about new version of "Vi på Saltkråkan" premieres on SVT, which has carefully renewed the Astrid Lindgren classic compared to the original series from the 1960s.

NOVEMBER

5: Program host Micke Leijnegard is sentenced to a fine and damages for sexual harassment. He kissed a female colleague on the mouth during a party evening in connection with the TV recording of "The Champions" in Spain. Leijnegard leaves his program, but SVT promises that he will make other programs for the channel.

12: During her concert in Amsterdam, Zara Larsson picks up 16-year-old Julia Coster from the audience and their choreographed dance together soon goes ultra-viral on Tiktok and is copied across social media. Zara Larsson also gets a Grammy nomination and gains a new large audience in North America during the year thanks to her touring as support act for Tate McRae.

DECEMBER

2: "Documents from the Inside" on SVT releases the first part of a documentary about what Joakim Lundell has told about his childhood. A reasonable examination of a person in power on YouTube or an attack on his right to his own history? The waves of debate are running high.

4: The organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest decide that Israel will be allowed to participate in next year's competition, which causes several countries to drop out. Including Spain and the Netherlands.

5: Netflix plans to buy HBO, HBO Max and Warner Bros, with their vast libraries of classic films and TV series. More and more people are ditching the cinema for TV at home, and the $83 billion deal is the strongest sign of where Hollywood is headed, as a streaming service could gobble up the most storied of all film studios.
