The Swedes were 3.26 seconds ahead of Norway's second team and 3.46 ahead of Norway's first team. This was after Maja Dahlqvist gave Jonna Sundling a lead of almost three seconds at the last changeover.
It was fun, but the high altitude makes it really painful, says Dahlqvist in the victory interview in Viaplay.
I'm glad I was able to give Jonna a little lead on the final stretch.
Sundling replies:
"It was a perfect lead. I just had to go fast and try to have energy the whole way. I'm so happy," she says.
The Swedish teams were doing well during the first stages (each skater did three stages each), but on the penultimate stage Emma Ribom lost and Linn Svahn could not make up the seconds on the last stage and lost a few more seconds on the lead. The second team finished fifth, 5.79 seconds behind the Swedish first team.
"We are a little disappointed. It was difficult to take the last corner, where you skid and don't get the speed," Svahn tells Viaplay.
I feel like Linn, my body feels good, but in the last corner there were problems every time. It was too many meters to be able to send Linn out in the back of Maja, says Ribom about his last stretch. I'm pissed that I couldn't take the corner better.
A year ago, Ribom won the sprint relay in Davos together with Jonna Sundling.
On Saturday, an individual sprint awaits in Davos.
