Even Calle Halfvarsson, who has back problems, is abstaining from competing this week.
It will be a decimated Swedish star squad in Davos since it was already decided earlier that Ebba Andersson and Frida Karlsson would not be going to Switzerland. Andersson because she is focusing on getting in shape for the Tour de Ski, which starts in mid-week, and Frida Karlsson to get a calmer start to the competition season after her foot injury during the autumn.
Måns Skoglund is also forced to abstain due to illness.
Jens Burman, who was feeling unwell and couldn't compete in Lillehammer last weekend, is now back.
"We have started the season with three delightful World Cup victories, but also some illnesses and injuries that have disrupted. Unfortunately, we will be missing several of our stars in Davos, but instead get the opportunity to bring forward some new skiers, including Ebba Stenman," says national team manager Anders Byström in a press release.
The Ski Association is prioritizing the Scandinavian Cup for the younger skiers, who therefore will not be going to Davos, despite their merits. This includes, among others, Alvar Myhlback.
The program includes sprint relay, sprint, and 20 kilometer interval start from Friday to Sunday.
