Neprjaeva, 23, and Korosteljov, 22, received the green light from the International Ski Federation (Fis) earlier this week to compete as neutral athletes.
In Saturday's sprint qualifiers, Neprjaeva was only 39th on the women's side and Korosteljov was 52nd on the men's side. This meant they did not advance to the quarterfinals, but the duo will compete again on Sunday when it's time for the 10 km freestyle with individual start.
All six Swedish ladies advanced to the quarterfinals and Jonna Sundling impressed the most. She was the fastest in the qualifiers, with Maja Dahlqvist third and Linn Svahn fourth. Johanna Häggström (eighth), Emma Ribom (twelfth) and Moa Ilar (19th) also qualified.
Three blue-yellow men's riders will also compete in the quarterfinals: Edvin Anger (15th in the qualifiers), George Ersson (27th) and Marcus Grate (28th). Johan Häggström, Emil Danielsson and Anton Grahn did not advance from the qualifiers.
