The putts didn't fall in. Then Ludvig Åberg had to settle for par, 72 strokes, in the first round in Dubai. Far too bad on the greens, the putting was pretty crappy, he tells Viaplay.

This week's final competition in the DP World Tour's "Race to Dubai" also puts an end to Ludvig Åberg's golf season.

After 18 holes played, there's not much to suggest that Åberg's finish will be particularly festive. Thursday's par round places him in joint 36th place out of the 52 players in the starting field.

"Today, with these conditions, I would like to be four, five, six under (par) to feel like I've had a good day and a good score. But it's hard to do that without putting well," Åberg tells Viaplay.

Joakim Lagergren came to Dubai with a small chance to play for one of ten PGA Tour cards for next season, but that would have required a real top finish. Instead, he shares last place at +3.

American Michael Kim leads at -8, one stroke ahead of Englishman Tommy Fleetwood. Alex Norén is the best of the three Swedes, tied for ninth at -4.
