It is not only Stockholm's former governor, Anna Kinberg Batra, who has sought new staff through a notice in the reception.

Since 2020, 150 positions have been advertised solely on an iPad at the Government Offices' reception, according to an investigation by Dagens Nyheter. According to the authority, they have not been posted anywhere else or on the internet. Some of the ads have only been up for a few days before being removed.

It is only people who work at the authority and have a pass card who can easily access the screen. The setup has been used by several departments. For example, the Ministry of Enterprise has sought a company analyst and the Ministry of Infrastructure has sought a lawyer. It involves both permanent positions and temporary employments.

In many of the 142 ads that DN has reviewed, only one person has applied for the position, and they have also gotten the job.

Karina Åbom Engberg, the chairman of the ST union at the Government Offices, is surprised.

It is embarrassing and deeply inappropriate. The Government Offices are the authorities' authority and must be a role model, she says to DN.

The system of recruiting solely via the iPad in the reception ceased in connection with the Anna Kinberg Batra affair being revealed in the spring of 2024.

Linda Palmqvist, head of the Competence Supply section at the Government Offices, writes in an email to DN that "According to the Government Offices' instruction, not all employments need to be advertised. The authority is thus following the labor law regulations”.
