Comedian Ahmed Berhan played the game best and outmaneuvered the other participants in “The Traitors.” After the “endgame,” he emerged victorious – and emotions flooded in.
It really was like someone had shot 50 paintballs at me, explains Ahmed Berhan.
“Shame and sadness”
He tricked the other finalists Marcus Birro, Cleo Kinnaman and Tom Sjöstedt into believing he was faithful and received the entire prize pool – after also sacrificing his "Traitors" pal Matilda Ailan shortly before that.
Recklessly played, it might seem.
"There was a lot of shame and sadness that I was now paying the bill for the game that I had played for eight days. These relationships that I had managed to build with these very nice people who are now finding out that I had just been scammed," he says, adding:
It was truly a cocktail of emotions happening all at once.
Sit and listen
Ahmed Berhan was never threatened with expulsion by the other participants during the game. He explains that the best tactic was not to take up too much space.
It's a very good trait to just sit and listen. Some people like to talk more. But in a game like this, it's very beneficial to just listen properly.
The reactions to his time on the television show have been enormous.
It's been an incredible amount! People are so sweet. I was on my way to preschool with my kids the first week and heard someone yell "traitor" from across the street, like a parent from preschool. It's special.
