In one of the attacks on Sunday evening, eight people were killed, including two children, in a tent camp in al-Mawasi. Israel had previously designated al-Mawasi as a safe zone – but has nevertheless attacked the area on several occasions.

The death toll comes from Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, where the bodies were taken. According to AFP, the Israeli military has stated that it launched an attack targeting a Hamas terrorist.

UN officials report direct artillery fire at Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, where Israel is conducting a ground offensive. The surrounding area is also being bombed.

UN spokesperson Stephanie Tramblay quotes the World Health Organization's (WHO) Secretary-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who calls the attacks and Israel's evacuation order against the hospital on Sunday "deeply disturbing", according to AP.

Kamal Adwan is one of the last functioning hospitals, albeit partially, in the besieged northern parts of Gaza.

According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, several people have also been killed and injured in artillery attacks in Gaza City on Monday.

Israel simultaneously announces that three soldiers have been killed in battles in northern Gaza.
