It is not known how much Swift paid to get back her recordings, but the catalog was last sold for 300 million dollars, approximately 3.2 billion kronor) in 2020 deal also includes her concert films, music videos, album covers, and unreleased material.
"Saying this is my biggest dream come true is an understatement," she writes, thanking her fans for their backing.
She tells us she cried tears of joy when the rights finally became hers.
"I had almost stopped believing it would ever happen."
The conflict over Swift's music rights began in 2019 when music manager Scooter Braun bought her former record label Big Machine, thereby gaining control over the star's early albums. Swift criticized the deal and accused Braun of contributing to bullying from, among others, Kanye West.
To take back control, she chose to re-record the albums. So far, she has released four so-called "Taylor's Versions", with bonus tracks and previously unreleased material. However, the project has temporarily stopped at "Reputation", which was strongly marked by media frenzy and her feud with West.
A new version of the song "Look what you made me do" has recently been heard in the TV series The Handmaid's Tale, but a new re-recording now seems uncertain.
