Swift leaves Drake and Jay-Z behind when her new album debuted as number one on the album list on Monday, a little over a week after its release.
All of Swift's albums except her first have debuted as number one on the list, which means she now has 15 Billboard 200 number ones under her belt. Only The Beatles, with 19, have more.
But it's not the only record Swift has set with the new album. After a week, "The life of a showgirl" had sold 3,479,500 copies, according to the statistics company Luminate – more than any other album since they started keeping electronic statistics. Even when the company combines sales and streaming, the album sets a record.
It took eleven hours for the album to become the most played record in a day on Spotify – and the album reached the same record level on Apple Music when it was released on October 3.
On Amazon Music, the album is the most streamed in a day in the music service's history.
"The life of a showgirl" is Taylor Swift's 16th album and was recorded in secret in Stockholm with the Swedish producers Max Martin and Shellback.
