After the first run, it looked like it could be another great Swedish day in Slovenian Kranjska Gora, following Sara Hector's victory in the giant slalom yesterday. Both Anna Swenn-Larsson and Sara Hector had a good feeling, and were in fourth and sixth place respectively.
And that's exactly what happened.
Anna Swenn-Larsson secured her second podium of the season when she finished third. The Swede delivered a fine second run and overtook everyone. The leading duo, consisting of Wendy Holdener from Switzerland and Zrinka Ljutic from Croatia, proved too tough. The Croatian won, just like in Semmering last time, in an impressive manner.
Thus, the 33-year-old Swede took her 16th career podium, and got her revenge after missing the second run in Semmering.
Sara Hector also delivered a fine second run and took the lead with six skiers remaining. But then she fell back and finished in a stable sixth place.
Cornelia Öhlund also advanced to the second run. This despite having broken her thumb during one of the training sessions, and was forced to ski with a special protection. The 19-year-old finished 16th, and Estelle Alphand finished 26th.
Hanna Aronsson Elfman and Moa Boström Müssener missed the second run.
