The investigation is a response to the government's request to simplify the regulations for housing construction. The Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning proposes, among other things, abolishing the requirement that half of the rooms in the most noise-exposed apartments face a quiet place, such as an inner courtyard.
Housing Minister Andreas Carlson (KD) welcomes the proposal and believes that it simplifies construction.
This will lead to increased housing supply and lower costs.
Aren't there health risks to living in these environments?
New construction technology and insulation make it possible to build in more places without negatively affecting the indoor environment, says Andreas Carlson.
