The Swedish ice-dance pair Milla Ruud Reitan and Nikolaj Majorov finished 13th in the final at the European Figure Skating Championships in Sheffield. Their placement is the highest ever for a Swedish ice-dance pair, according to the Swedish Figure Skating Federation.

The Olympic-qualified pair finished with a total score of 175.76 at the European Ice Dance Championships final on Saturday evening. That score was enough for 13th place, an improvement on last year's result, when the pair finished 17th.

"We are very happy. We tried to forget about the points and just go out on the ice and enjoy it, skating for each other and for the audience. Our coach said before that we should forget about points and placements and just go out and skate," said Nikolaj Mayorov in a press release from the federation after the competition.

The gold medal was won by the French pair Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron.
