2+2, 2+2 and 2+1. The standing shooting ruined the Swedish men's World Cup race in Nove Mesto, as well as their Olympic qualification. "Of course I wanted a better result," says Sebastian Samuelsson, who was the top Swede, finishing 13th in the mass start.

Samuelsson, Martin Ponsiluoma, and Jesper Nelin were in the fight for the top spots. Then came the misses in the standing shooting - and the trio dropped down the results list.

"I would have liked to perform better this weekend, but things look good ahead of the Olympics," Samuelsson told SVT.

Frenchman Éric Perrot was sharper in the shooting, winning ahead of Campbell Wright of the USA and Sverre Dahlen Aspenes of Norway. Perrot takes over the overall lead from Italy's Tommaso Giacomel.

Nelin finished in 16th place, Ponsiluoma in 17th, and Malte Stefansson in 20th.

Corrected version: In a previous version, the wrong location was stated for Ponsiluoma.
