The index rose by 8.2 points to 59.0 in the second quarter of the year, a "significantly higher" level than the historical average of 55.4 for the period 2007–2026.

"We see strong optimism about expected export demand from most regions in the second-quarter survey. The uncertainty in the world remains but does not weigh on Swedish export companies over the next three months," says Lena Sellgren, Chief Economist at Business Sweden in a press release.

The index for expected export demand from Western, Central and Eastern Europe, North America and Asia "rose significantly" in the second quarter. At the same time, the corresponding index for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa plummeted - as expected - against the backdrop of the war in the Middle East, according to Business Sweden.
