The Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs advises against all travel to South Sudan and urges Swedes who are in the country to leave.
The decision, which was made on Thursday, is due to the security situation in the country. The advisory is in effect until further notice, writes the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
The UN peacekeeping forces have warned that South Sudan may be on the brink of a new civil war since the country's vice president Riek Machar, rival to President Salva Kiir, was arrested on Wednesday.
