It was during a police check in Värmdö municipality on December 28 that Nyberg was stopped.
The police also found a bag of suspected cocaine when she was searched, according to the newspaper. A seizure has been made, prosecutor Anders Jakobsson confirms to Expressen.
I can confirm that a bag has been seized, but we don't know what is in the bag because it will be sent for analysis,
Driving license confiscated
It involves blood and urine samples that will be analyzed, and the results are not expected for another week. Nyberg is now suspected of aggravated drunk driving and drug offenses. She has also had her driver's license confiscated.
The case is being handled by the police's special investigations department, which is responsible for investigations involving members of parliament. She herself denies the allegations.
"During the break, I had a car accident. In connection with this, I had to go down to the police station and take a breathalyzer test, which showed no result. It is therefore with great surprise that I take note of what is now being written about me and this incident. The Special Investigations Unit is now looking into this, which I welcome because I do not recognize myself in this," she writes in a comment to TT.
Spokesperson for police matters
Nyberg sits on the Justice Committee, is a police officer on leave and has been the Sweden Democrats' spokesperson on police issues. Press officer Oskar Cavalli-Björkman writes in a comment:
"This information is of course very serious. We will follow this closely. At this time, we must refer to the investigation and wait for further comments."
