Wictor Petersson did not get it at all in the World Championship final in shot put in Tokyo after having had the third longest throw in the qualifying round.

It was a bit tough today. It felt very good this morning and I tried to build on that feeling but my body was not quite there, says the 27-year-old to SVT.

Petersson finished eleventh in the final after having thrown 20.35 meters as his longest. It was almost eight decimeters shorter than his 21.14 in the qualifying round the night against Saturday Swedish time.

20.35 was not enough to take a place among the top ten who got to continue throwing in the final after three rounds.

The 32-year-old American superstar Ryan Crouser won the competition with a throw of 22.34. The three-time Olympic gold medalist thus took his third consecutive World Championship gold outdoors.
