A Swede takes over when NHL club Chicago Blackhawks fires the coach.
Anders Sörensen, 49, makes history as the first Swedish head coach in NHL.
But the appointment is on a temporary basis.

Anders Sörensen has been head coach for Chicago's farm team Rockford since November 2021.
He entered Chicago's organization in 2014-15 as a player developer.
Sörensen is from Södertälje and was assistant coach in SSK for three seasons in HockeyAllsvenskan. During the 2013-14 season, his last in the club, he had to step in as temporary head coach when Johan Strömwall was fired.
In Chicago, super talent Connor Bedard, 19, plays, who was drafted as number one in 2023.
