Millwall's goalkeeper Liam Roberts is suspended for six matches after the notorious assault on Crystal Palace's striker Jean-Philippe Mateta in the FA Cup match between the teams last weekend.
After VAR review, Roberts, who hit both the ball and Mateta's head with a high kick, received a red card early in the match.
A direct red card automatically results in a three-match suspension, but the English Football Association (FA) increased the penalty to six matches.
Mateta was carried out on a stretcher and taken to the hospital, and received, among other things, 25 stitches in one ear. He managed to avoid concussion or fractures and may possibly be back in play by the end of the month.
Crystal Palace's chairman Steve Parish said afterwards that it was "the worst tackle" he had ever seen in football.
