At 11pm on Tuesday, an alarm was raised about a suspected dangerous object outside in the area. The police set up large cordons and the National Bomb Squad was called to the scene.
Residents in the area were accommodated in their homes during the operation.
At around 1:45 a.m., the object had been taken care of without needing to be rendered harmless.
"We cannot see that it was placed there to be directed at any specific person or business," says police spokesperson Nils Norling.
The police are describing the incident as preparation for public destruction, but it is unclear whether a crime has been committed.
"We have to investigate that now. It cannot be ruled out one hundred percent at this point," says Nils Norling.
