Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M) does not want to comment further on the information that the Swedish police are collaborating with the controversial AI company Palantir.

"The police authority itself decides which IT services the authority procures and uses in its operations. It is not something that I or the government approves or receives any specific information about," Strömmer writes in a response to a written question in the Riksdag, reports the newspaper ETC.

Some time ago, ETC wrote that according to reports, Swedish police are using a program from Palantir to compile and analyze large amounts of information.

The police have responded to ETC that they can neither "confirm nor deny relationships with Palantir."

Member of Parliament Petter Löberg (S) has submitted a written question to Strömmer in which he asked, among other things, whether “the minister and the government have approved or been informed about the police's cooperation with Palantir.” He also wondered how long the cooperation has been going on and where the data being analyzed is stored.

"I have full confidence that the Police Authority's processing of personal data complies with applicable regulations. Questions about the Police Authority's procurements can be directed to the authority," writes Gunnar Strömmer in his response.
