Stockholm Stock Market Rises for Seventh Consecutive Day

The Stockholm stock exchange continues upwards and rose on Monday for the seventh day in a row. The broad OMXS index closed at plus 0.5 percent.

On the list of major companies OMXS30, the tele and broadband operator Tele2 was found at the top, the stock went up 2.2 percent.

Also, among other things, the pharmaceutical manufacturer Astra Zeneca and the mining equipment manufacturer Epiroc increased, up 1.5 and 1.8 percent respectively.

At the bottom among the largest companies were the forestry company SCA and the defense group Saab, down 2.1 and 2.0 percent respectively.

EQT climbed 1.0 percent. The company announced on Monday morning that the founder Conni Jonsson will leave the post as chairman of the board during next year.

The online bank Avanza rose 4.5 percent after a buy stamp from SEB. In the other direction, the gaming company Embracer moved with a loss of 5.8 percent after receiving a sell stamp from Handelsbanken.

On the continent, it was mixed. The Paris stock exchange fell just over 1 percent in the wake of the country's political turmoil. Frankfurt and London were traded around zero.

The stock market mood was more cheerful in Japan. The Tokyo stock exchange's Nikkei 225 rushed to a new record level after Sanae Takaichi was appointed new chairman of Japan's ruling party, the Liberal Democrats, over the weekend. The Japanese yen weakened against, among other things, the euro.

Furthermore, among currencies, it can be noted that the Swedish krona stands at 9.38 against the US dollar and 10.98 against the euro.
