Among large-cap stocks on the OMXS30, mining group Boliden rose 2.1 percent. Saab lost 2.8 percent while Telia fell 1.6 percent in early trading.
The Stockholm Stock Exchange fell 0.1 percent on Wednesday after rising earlier in the day, despite hopes of an extended ceasefire between Iran and the United States.
Yesterday, both the S&P 500 and the tech-heavy Nasdaq in New York closed at record levels. There has also been a clear upward trend in Asia.
The price of oil has been volatile. On Thursday morning, a barrel cost around $95.
