After about ten minutes of trading, the broad OMXS index was down 0.3 percent. Among the losers are engineering companies such as Atlas Copco and ABB, down 1 percent. At the other end, clothing chain H&M is up just over 3 percent.
Yesterday, the Stockholm Stock Exchange also fell, for the ninth day in a row, albeit with small daily declines. The US closed in the red, as did Asian stock markets overnight. And US pre-market trading continues to point downwards ahead of the opening on Wall Street later today.
The financial markets are characterised by rising market interest rates, both in the US and in Europe. On the other side of the Atlantic, long-term bond yields are at their highest level since 2007, before the financial crisis, with some occasional short-term exceptions.
The price of oil has ticked up since yesterday afternoon. A barrel of North Sea oil costs $91.40 on Tuesday morning.
