It was early in the summer that the City of Stockholm discovered that the company, which on behalf of the traffic office manages parking surveillance in parts of the city, had invoiced the city incorrectly. This includes, among other things, double invoicing and invoices for passes where parking attendants have not performed their work.
"We take very seriously that Avarn seems to have sent incorrect invoices to us and that we have found serious problems in the time reporting. They have not fully delivered the parking surveillance that the traffic office has ordered and paid for", says Anna Green, department head at the traffic office in the City of Stockholm in a press release.
The City of Stockholm has appointed an external auditor to map the extent of the problem. They are also demanding that Avarn Security repay the fees that have been invoiced incorrectly and pay penalties for the occasions when the company has not delivered in accordance with the agreement.
The city has not yet reported it to the police, but states that they will do so when they know more about the extent.
According to the city, there are no signs that incorrect parking fines have been issued.
