During Saturday, the alpine icon Lindsey Vonn finished 24th and 27th in two downhill races in her comeback. There were no top placements either on Sunday when the 40-year-old competed in two super-G races in Copper Mountain, Colorado.

In the first race, Vonn finished in 24th place and in the second race, she was the 19th skier – she was 2.19 and 2.06 seconds behind the 22-year-old compatriot Lauren Macuga, who won both super-G races.

"This was just the beginning, and the way I'm skiing is more important than the times right now. Now I have FIS points to compete in the World Cup", Vonn wrote on X after Saturday's downhill.

The competitions in Colorado were under the International Ski Federation's (FIS) umbrella, but at a lower level.

Vonn – who has taken three Olympic Games medals, eight World Championship medals, and 82 World Cup victories – revealed in November that she is making a comeback almost six years after she ended her career in the spring of 2019.

She has previously said that she hopes to get a wildcard to two super G races in Swiss St. Moritz on December 21-22.
