The Left Party proposes more money for families with children and healthcare in its budget motion and wants to significantly raise taxes for individuals with higher incomes. The government and The Sweden Democrats are completely out of touch with the Swedish people, says party leader Nooshi Dadgostar.

V wants to raise the child allowance by 400 kronor, which would cost the state almost 9 billion kronor per year.

The child allowance is an extremely effective measure, says Dadgostar.

And the party wants to allocate 10 billion kronor to the regions to "save healthcare". The government has, with its policy, increased the healthcare queues, according to the economic policy spokesperson Ida Gabrielsson. 80,000 more are in line now than in January 2021, she says.

Support households

Sweden has the longest healthcare queues ever. The government has left healthcare and the regions to completely handle this cost shock.

Households have, at the same time, been "skinned" by the government's budget, V believes. To "protect households" the party also wants to see increased housing allowance, increased unemployment benefit and more money in social insurance. In addition, a more generous high-cost protection for electricity and a "Sweden ticket" for public transport are proposed.

"Moderate benefit"

The Left Party has the same reform space as the government, 80 billion kronor, and does not reject tax cuts for low- and middle-income earners. But V believes that the government favors high-income earners too much and that it does not stimulate the economy. Therefore, those who earn over 50,000 kronor per month will get increased tax, according to the party.

We are reclaiming these Moderate benefits, says Gabrielsson.

The proposals are also financed with, among other things, a bank tax, increased tax on ISK and abolished tax deduction for household services. A preparedness tax and phased-out job tax deduction for people with higher incomes will bring in 37 billion.
