Djurgården got to choose their semifinal opponent in the Hockey Allsvenskan playoffs thanks to their regular season win, and the draw fell on their big rival Södertälje.
And it became a rather irritated event. Just ask the home team's Linus Klasen.
The 39-year-old Djurgården profile roared loudly already in the first period. In TV4's broadcast, he was heard shouting at Södertälje's bench with a clear message.
Stop filming down here! Play hard, don't film! Bloody rats, he was heard shouting.
Afterwards, he explained his anger, after the first period.
It's like usual, they embellish in situations. Many do it in Swedish hockey today, unfortunately. We older players don't have it in our blood. It's sad and it's something we need to get rid of, otherwise floorball will be tougher soon, he says in TV4 Play.
It was also Klasen who opened the scoring in the match series, when he made it 1–0 in powerplay.
But it didn't help much.
Södertälje turned the game around and won the first semifinal away, and thus lead the series 1–0. The decisive goal came in the third period, when Andrew Nielsen scored 3–2. Jacob Dahlström could then set the final score in an empty net. It was also Södertälje's only goal that didn't come in powerplay.
In the other semifinal, Karlskoga faces AIK.
