The Stockholm Stock Exchange closed slightly higher. The broad OMXS index ended Monday up 0.3 percent.

The venture capital company EQT announced that it is buying Arlanda Express; its share rose 1.7 percent.

Construction giant Skanska rose 1.2 percent after the company announced a highway construction contract in California, USA, a deal worth SEK 1.1 billion.

Defense group Saab also climbed 0.9 percent.

Among the companies that fell were telecom and internet operator Tele2, which fell by 0.8 percent. Pharmaceutical giant Astra Zeneca, heat pump manufacturer Nibe and tissue company Essity all fell around 0.6 percent.

Outside the OMXS30 list of the most traded stocks, a clear decline is noticeable for the online pharmacy company Apotea, which lost 4.1 percent.

When the Stockholm Stock Exchange closed, London and Paris traded cautiously downwards, while Frankfurt hovered around zero.

After last week's strong finish on Wall Street with clear gains, the three leading indices are trading in the red in early Monday trading.
