Earlier this week, Lars Bryggman scored Skellefteå's 1–0 goal in the marathon first SM semi-final, which ended on Wednesday night (4–3 after seven periods). On Thursday, the 33-year-old veteran forward scored the 1–0 and 2–0 goals in Skellefteå's 5–0 win in the second match. On Saturday, Bryggman again was Skellefteå's opening goal scorer when he tied the score at 1–1 in Luleå.
It was the beginning of a turnaround as Skellefteå won 3–1 against the reigning Swedish champions in Norrbotten and took a 3–0 lead in the series.
On Monday, Skellefteå can "sweep" Luleå and reach their first SM final in two years with another away victory.
"We will do everything we can to do that," Skellefteå's Victor Stjernborg tells TV4.
The last time Skellefteå was in the SM final, in 2024, they defeated Rögle 4–1 in the best-of-seven series. Rögle could be waiting in a possible SM final this year too, if Ängelholmslaget beats Växjö in their semi-final. That series is 2–0 to Rögle ahead of game 3 in Skåne on Sunday.
