Skellefteå leads 2–0 in matches against a Luleå team that became increasingly frustrated as the match went on and incurred several penalties. With just over a minute left, several fights broke out simultaneously and four match penalties – two for each team – were awarded.

In total, the teams incurred 134 penalty minutes.

In Luleå's camp there was frustration over the lack of ejections they believe should have been called before Skellefteå's second and third goals.

"The frustration comes from what happened at the end of the second period, but you have to learn to deal with it," Luleå assistant coach Henrik Stridh told TV4 Play.

After the record-breaking match on Tuesday, when Skellefteå won in the seventh overtime, things moved faster this time.

Bryggman shines

Forward Lars Bryggman scored 3:46 into the first period and then extended the lead at 16:26 of the second period.

Bryggman scored 10 goals in 49 regular-season games – a perfectly decent goal tally. In the playoffs, he has four goals in seven games.

"It's fun to score goals. I think the game works well for the whole team and for our line too, so I just try to contribute with my play," he said.

But Bryggman's entire line is successful, with Victor Stjernborg (1 assist) at center and Andreas Johnson (1 goal, 2 assists) on the other wing. Johnson decided the marathon match, making it 3–0 with only four seconds left in the second period.

Ice-cold power play

Luleå had chances when the team started the second period on the power play and then had two more in a row - but without success.

Skellefteå scored two more power-play goals in the third period, from Oscar Lindberg and Jonathan Johnson, giving them three power-play goals in the match.

Skellefteå goaltender Linus Söderström recorded a shutout, saving 17 shots.

The next two matches, the first on Saturday, will be played in Luleå.
