It was in January that the US Department of Justice, after a protracted political process, published over 3 million files related to the investigation into the late convicted sex offender.
The files contained about 100 names as well as nude photos in which people's faces were visible, even though those faces were supposed to have been removed, according to the lawsuit.
The Justice Department disclosed “victims’ personal information and made it known to the outside world.” Survivors now face “new trauma” as strangers contact and threaten them, the plaintiffs write in the lawsuit, which also includes search giant Google.
