The Swedish fashion designer Ellen Hodakova Larsson, founder of the brand Hodakova, has won this year's LVMH prize for young talents, writes the company in a press release.
LVMH owns brands such as Louis Vuitton, Fendi and Hennessy.
The jury writes in its motivation that "her creatively recycled clothes and accessories display outstanding creativity and richness of ideas".
"Since I founded Hodakova in 2021, I have encountered resistance around our business model, despite this, I can proudly say that since the start, all of our garments are upcycled – the fact that we are now awarded the LVMH Prize proves that the world is ready for the first sustainable fashion house", says Hodakova Larsson in a press release.
Hodakova Larsson is the first Swedish winner of the prize.
Hodakova Larsson receives 400,000 euros – equivalent to approximately 4.5 million kronor – and a one-year mentorship with the luxury giant.
