Norwegian flags were waving and the noise level was enormous in Trondheim when the 28-year-old home star took his sixth consecutive championship gold in sprint (including the Olympic Games).
I'm speechless. Completely incredible. Look at the audience, this is how we do it in Trondheim, he says in the victory interview.
Despite being the clear favorite, he was nervous before the start.

He also delivers a message to the fanatical audience.

And speaking of the audience, it was a celebrity-studded affair at the finish line. Queen Sonja looked happy as Klæbo crossed the finish line.
And after the race, he broke his own rules to avoid illness – by giving the queen a hug.
She deserved a hug, it was completely okay. I took the initiative, he tells VG.
"Very disappointed"
For Klæbo's Swedish medal competitor, Edvin Anger, the day ended in a fiasco.
He came sixth and last in his semifinal.
Very disappointed. You can't do yourself justice when it turns out like this, he says, referring to the track.
It becomes extremely loose, and then I can't get out what I have. I show in the prologue that my form is good. But when it becomes like this, it gets tough.
The silver went to Federico Pellegrino, Italy, and the bronze to Lauri Vuorinen, Finland.
