Idre and sprint – then Sebastian Samuelsson wins as usual. The biathlete took home the Swedish premiere in superior style. It was a very good race, Samuelsson tells SVT.

Sebastian Samuelsson has now won the sprint competition in Idre five of the last six years.

I am satisfied with my performance, especially on the shooting range, he tells SVT.

He completed both shooting series flawlessly. In the tracks, Samuelsson and national teammate Martin Ponsiluoma were basically evenly matched, but Ponsiluoma had three misses.

"We tested a week ago and I thought I was a little cautious. I tried to be more aggressive today and it was a pretty easy track and easy conditions. I tried to use everything I had from the start and did well," says Samuelsson.

Ponsiluoma received 66 seconds in timeout for his three errors and finished fifth.

"In terms of placement, it's not that bad, but I'm not really happy with the job on the embankment. Everything else is actually good today. I think the form feels very good," Ponsiluoma tells SVT.

Due to a lack of snow, the biathletes are competing in two starting groups, but the top finishers have crossed the finish line. Samuelsson was around 40 seconds ahead of German Philipp Horn. Third and fourth place were also German in the form of Simon Kaiser and Justus Strelow.

The lack of snow also means that there will be two sprint competitions in Idre and no short distance.

"It's just a matter of going out and recharging for tomorrow and giving Sebastian his revenge," says Martin Ponsiluoma.

For a period there was no power at the ski stadium in Idre, which meant that SVT was unable to show the competition in its entirety.
